Craig Fugate's interim replacement imminent
With the onset of hthe 2009 hurricane season less than eight weeks away, Gov. Charlie Crist on Tuesday will announce a replacement for Craig Fugate as Florida's director of emergency management. The Buzz hears that deputy director Ruben Almaguer will be given the post on an interim basis with the current No. 3 in the agency, David Halstead, moving up to the No. 2 post. The appointments are being made on an interim basis pending Fugate's confirmation as head of FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
