Cretul to lawmakers: You won't be here long
For days, House leadership was eerily silent when it comes to next week's special session. Not today. Buried in a memo from House Speaker Larry Cretul to House members is this line: "Accordingly, you can expect your stay to be very short next week."
Of course, Cretul could mean one of two things. It's a short proposed amendment to the constitution. Lawmakers could come in, pass it, and then go on their merry ways. Or, more likely, they could come in, do nothing, then skip town.
