Crist avoids stance on leadership fund legislation
With legislation to resurrect leadership funds awaiting final approval in the Senate, Gov. Charlie Crist is still uncertain on where he stands.
Crist said Tuesday before the Cabinet meeting that the bill represents "more transparency than what we have now" but he doesn't know whether he supports leadership funds.
The House rushed the legislation to the Senate late last week for a quick approval but the Senate didn't take action as expected today. Senate President Jeff Atwater said Monday it will get heard by the end of the week. "It isn't getting any special treatment," he said.
If the bill passes during session, Crist would have seven days to act.
