Crist courted Gulf Power CEO Susan Story and Toni Jennings for senate
Charlie Crist told Buzz today that he had urged Gulf Power CEO Susan Story and 
former Lt. Gov. Toni Jennings to apply for the interim U.S. Senate appointment and both demurred. That helps explain why only one woman, Jennifer Carroll, made it only his list of 10 finalists (now down to nine, with Bill Young saying no).
"I think the world of both of them...But they had other pursuits they needed to attend to," Crist said, after being asked about the scarcity of women on his short list.
