Crist to interview some Supreme candidates
Gov. Charlie Crist is moving forward with the selection progress for the state-wide opening on the Supreme Court about to be vacated by Justice Raoul Cantero.
Crist is tentatively scheduled to interview the five finalists on Wednesday morning, spokesman Sterling Ivey confirmed. (Pending another tropical depression named Gustav?)
The finalists have been invited to meet with Crist and his general counsel. They include 2nd District Court of Appeal Judge Charles Canady, 54, of Lakeland; 11th Circuit Judge Kevin Emas, 50, Miami; 5th District Court of Appeal Judge Vincent G. Torpy Jr., 52, Daytona Beach; 15th Circuit Judge Jorge Labarga, 55, West Palm Beach; and lawyer Edward Guedes, 44, Miami.
