Crist plays pundit, dodges 2014 question on MSNBC
Charlie Crist was just on MSNBC where he played political analyst and fielded the question about his future plans.
Of the presidential race he observed, "40 days left, that's an eternity in politics and I think with the three debates coming up ... those are always opportunities for both candidates to project a message that they want to prior to Election Day itself. But let's also remember people are voting early in a lot of states ... ."
He went on to say the debates gives the Romney campaign "ample opportunity to sort of recalibrate things. But at this stage, I'd much rather be with the president than Gov. Romney's campaign. It's a tough time for them."
When reminded of a poll showing him beating Gov. Rick Scott in a hypothetical 2014 match-up, Crist dodged: "I'm thinking about re-electing President Obama."
