Crist seeks more high court names
Gov. Charlie Crist has officially asked the Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission for more names, specifically so he can consider a more diverse finalist pool. Read the letter here.
Crist appointed Judge Jorge Labarga to the Fourth District Court of Appeals. But Labarga's name had just been forwarded to the governor as a finalist for a Florida Supreme Court position.
Labarga was the only Hispanic of the five finalists' names sent to the governor.
