Crist on Sink: I like her

It looked increasingly likely Tuesday that Florida's Cabinet would end up bipartisan with at least one Democrat, Alex Sink, breaking the Republican lock on statewide executive offices by winning the chief financial officer job.

Republican hopeful Charlie Crist told reporters that wouldn't be a problem if he was governor. "She's a Wake Forest Deacon," said Crist, who has called his freshman days making Wake Forest University's football team his greatest athletic achievement. Sink is a WFU trustee and alumna. "I like her."

Crist also shrugged off any challenges his agenda might face due to the likely passage Tuesday of Amendment 3, which will require 60 percent of voters to approve future constitutional amendments. Crist's pledge to double the homestead exemption would require such an amendment.

"If other people have been listening to the people, I don't think that will be challenging," Crist said.
