Crist talking with McCain on 'cat fund'
Moments ago, Gov. Charlie Crist and his entourage strode into the St. Regis Resort in Fort Lauderdale, headed to a fourth-floor fundraiser with Sen. John McCain. We asked about the issue Barack Obama and other Democrats are trying to make out of McCain's opposition to a national catastrophe fund.
"We've talked about the possibility of a regional approach and I think that's progress," said Crist, who has backed the broader national approach.
But is it an issue for him in Florida? "I think it's one that we continue to have good conversations on," the governor said as the elevator closed. Crist is expected to join McCain in the Everglades tomorrow.
Among the others attending the fundraiser: Sen. Jeff Atwater, Rep. Ellyn Bogdanoff (who introduced Cindy McCain), former Senate President Jim Scott and Justin Sayfie.
