CW Bill raising big bucks
Rep. C.W. Bill Young says he has raised about $216,000 this year and has $594,000 in cash to ward off Democratic challengers if he decides to run again.
But will he? The Indian Shores Republican says he still has not decided if he will retire this term. He said in an interview with the Times today that his job is heavily focused on grim matters - the war, injured soldiers - but he still enjoys his work and is satisfied.
He doesn't have a time frame when he will decide about whether to retire.
In the meantime, his fat war chest may ward off possible challengers. Asked if it was a sign he was running again, Young said, "I think you should take it as a sign we are prepared to back up whatever decision we make."
