CW Bill on Walter Reed
Rep. C.W. Bill Young is adding his voice to the chorus of complaints against Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
In response to a series in the Washington Post detailing shoddy conditions in the hospital's outpatient facilities, Young said he and his wife Beverly stopped visiting the hospital in 2004 because they were frustrated at the poor care soldiers were receiving.
Young said he complained to Army commanders but was ignored. "When Bev or I would bring problems to the attention of authorities of Walter Reed, we were made to feel very uncomfortable," Young told the Post.
Beverly Young said she complained several times to Lt. Gen. Kevin Kiley, the former commander of the hospital, but "got nowhere." More here.
