Daryl Jones on Davis' vote (or no vote)
During a conference call with reporters, to slam Charlie Crist's failure to "stand up" for 575 ex-convicts seeking restoration of civil rights, Daryl Jones was asked about the controversy over the 2000 November election.
"I thought it was kind of entertaining myself. Whenever you are running an election, you want to make sure you have one good vote for yourself. It’s kind of hard to keep somebody who's running from voting. I think it was probably a clerical error, if anything. It’s possible that he may have signed on the wrong line."
Jones, Davis' running mate, said he has voted in every major election but may have missed a municipal election. Trying to regain the message, he added, "The votes we care about today are the ones Charlie Crist didn't cast."
