David Wilkins is new Department of Children and Families secretary
Gov. Rick Scott announced David Wilkins, a Florida Baptist Children's Home official and member of his transition team, as his new Department of Children and Families secretary Tuesday. He replaces the agency's current head George Sheldon.
Wilkins recently retired as the global managing director of sales at Accenture Health and Public Service group, according to a news release. "David's passion for child care issues and the human services business, along with his decades of management experience in business and charities, will serve this agency well as it protects Florida's families," Scott said in the statement.
