Davis gets the question, too
Charlie Crist is not the only candidate getting the "gay" question. At Century Village in Pembroke Pines, Friday afternoon a TV reporter danced around the subject, asking Jim Davis, "You know what I"m taking about?" (He wanted to know what Davis thought about the New Times story suggesting Crist is gay, a notion Crist has repeatedly denied.)
"I do," Davis replied. "This campaign is about what's best for our state. I believe we can do better. Charlie Charlie says stay the course ..."
Not giving up, the reporter asked, "What would you say to someone who tries to take the issue off those, tries to take the focus, rather, away from the issues and make it personal?"
"This campaign is not about any personal issues," Davis said, refusing to go off message. "This is about lowering insurance premiums, it's about standing up to these special interests. Something Charlie Crist has failed to do. Something I'm going to do as governor."
