Davis, the press, and the RPOF

Republican Party of Florida Chairman Carole Jean Jordan released the following statement regarding Jim Davis’ vote against H.R.895, a resolution condemning the disclosure of classified information: “In an effort to appease his liberal base, Jim Davis once again stood against President Bush’s strong leadership in the Global War on Terror. Yesterday’s vote against a resolution condemning ‘the disclosure and publication of classified information that relate to…intelligence and law enforcement programs to track terrorists and terrorist finances’ was just one more example of how Jim Davis will do anything to play to the liberal Democrat primary voters he needs to win in September."

UPDATE from Davis campaign spokeswoman Danae Jones: “The politicians in Tallahassee only mention national security when they want to score cheap political points. Jim Davis has earned strong national security credentials by consistently fighting to increase funding for homeland security, port security and for our troops and will continue to defend the civil liberties of every American. Those are values that have earned him the support of Democrats and Republicans across Florida and make him the Democrat for governor who can win in November.”
