Davis Releases 'Achieve Florida' Plan
Seeking to take charge on education, Jim Davis today announced his plan to de-emphasize the FCAT.
Teachers will spend less time preparing students for the test and parents will get to see questions and answers. Davis also wants to speed up test scoring. And his plan would no longer rank schools solely on FCAT results. Each school will be rated as “Excellent,” “Achieving” or “Needs Improvement.” The full plan is here.
