Davis Voting Record Set as Early as 2004
State elections records (built by using data from each of the state's 67 elections supervisors) as early as August 2004 showed that Congressman Jim Davis may not have cast a vote in the 2000 presidential election, Buzz has determined.
Davis disputes the record -- saying he remembers voting for Al Gore and himself in the election -- and his campaign has said a clerical error is at fault.
Buzz's source: An electronic voter database the St. Petersburg Times ordered back in August 2004 and has in its archives.
Who cares? Political conspiracists who have suggested the data might have been altered recently to make Davis look bad.
