The debate over, who won?
At last, Rod Smith and Jim Davis met for a televised debate (was it a debate? some wondered) Saturday night in Fort Lauderdale. They talked education, environment and storm insurance and much more. Read about it here.
Immediately after it was over, Smith spokesman David Kochman dropped a news release before reporters. "Rod Smith Wins First Televised Debate," it boasted. "Shows he is the only Democrat who can take on the Republicans in November - and win." The release touted Smith's straight talk" and plans for insurance and raising teacher pay.
Davis' spin team was not as prompt, but claimed victory as well. "He came across as incredibly gubernatorial," spokeswoman Danae Jones told the Buzz. "He showed us governors do. They lead, they think. And they tell people exactly where they are and how to fix those issues."
