Dems close the fundraising gap



The Florida Democratic Party posted its best second quarter fundraising in history, $2.5-million, compared with the Republican Party of Florida’s $3.1-million. Without the RPOF’s two largest corporate donors - $705,000 combined between Morse Holding and Florida Power & Light - the FDP would have outraised the Republicans, a news release touted. “The fact that the Florida Democratic Party nearly negated the Republican Party's traditional fundraising advantage in the 2nd quarter goes to show that people are turning to Democrats to lead,” Party Chair Karen Thurman asserted. “Republicans in recent years have shown that they simply have the wrong priorities and are unable to govern. The people have taken note.”
