Elect Carrie Prejean

PrejeanORLANDO - She's butted heads with celeb blogger Perez Hilton and negotiated with Donald Trump. Surely Carrie Prejean is now ready for the rough and tumble of a political career.

"I definitely have a high interest in politics,'' said the former beauty queen attending a state GOP conference Saturday and telling Buzz she might one day run for office. "I love Sarah Palin. I think she's amazing."

The 21-year-old former Miss California won national attention after she was attacked for telling pageant judge Hilton she believes marriage should be between a man and a woman. She later lost her crown for allegedly failing to do the work she had agreed to as Miss California.

God works in mysterious ways, Prejean told Republicans gathered for a young voter conference in Orlando Saturday. Standing up for her principles drew attacks but helped her career. Rather than wearing a tiara, she travels the country speaking out on issues that matter to her.

"If you honor God, He will honor you,'' she said. "I don't need to be Miss USA. I'm not going to little ribbon-cuttings and things that aren't meaningful to me."
