Sen. Bill Nelson's office said calls are "back-to-back" and about
6,700 e-mails have come in so far today, way more than normal. "Again, they were mostly supportive of the president’s speech," which called for a balanced approach, spokesman Dan McLaughlin said.
Rubio's office is "saturated" with calls as well. "A dominant concern has been from people worried about the impact of their Social Security checks," said spokesman Alex Burgos.
Congressional offices are also inundated with calls and e-mails.
