Final push in Miami

Katherine Harris stopped traffic in Miami on Monday. Well, not exactly. But the U.S. Senate candidate, her supporters and the Buzz did witness a car accident at a busy intersection outside Florida International University.

A car slammed into an SUV before speeding off in front of dozens of people, including Harris. A police officer caught the man, who was driving a stolen car and later told police he was having a "bad day."

The accident distracted Harris from her task - sign waving. She repeatedly spoke to officers who swarmed to the intersection and checked on the victim, a mother whose two little girls were sitting in the backseat unharmed. She even peered into window of the police car to catch a glimpse of the driver, saying she wanted to see "the jerk."

All was not lost, though.

By the end of the ordeal, Harris had firmly planted "Harris for Senate" stickers on the victims.

Earlier in the day, Harris accompanied by her husband visited the famed Cuban restaurant Versailles, where opponent Peter Monroe had spent the better part of last week. Monroe was milling around at the same time but the two never spotted each other. Their supporters, however, clashed a few times.
