The FL GOP machine to elect McCain
Team John McCain and RPOF held a conference call today to announce that Barack Obama is toast in Florida. The campaign has chairs in place in all 67 counties, will soon have 23 offices open, and 30-full time staffers between the Victory and RPOF operations.
"We are energized from a grass roots volunteer level that I believe you have never seen before in a presidential election,'' said GOP chairman Jim Greer, who dismissed Obama's operation as "a phantom organizational structure".
"Sen. Obama is a person without any substance to his public policy positions...The only red phone he'll be answering at 3 a.m. in the morning is from his campaign manager telling him he's lost the election...Florida is the battleground and Sen. McCain has in his arsenal a great list of assets from Gov. Crist to the Republican party of Florida."
State Director Arlene DiBenigno noted that McCain won the Florida primary without much campaign organization in Florida. "You look at that model and the layer we've added on now and it's certainly a path to victory in the state of Florida...Our campaign has momentum, has an early structure that will help us be successful in the state of Florida."
