FL Hillary donors heading to see Obama

UPDATE: Our mistake: Cruz is up there as part of a Clinton/Obama meeting with key Hispanic Clinton supporters.

Among the Hillary Clinton bundlers in Florida we hear are heading to Washington today to meet with Barack Obama: Ana Cruz of Tampa, Richard Swann of Winter Park, Luis Lauredo of Miami, Chris Korge of Miami.

While Obama Florida Finance Chairman Kirk Wagar says he's been bowled over tby the graciousness and enthusiasm of former Clinton fundraisers since she lost the primary, most people acknowledge there's still a lot of work to do as far as unifying. "It's been slow coming...Let's see what they have to say, especially about Florida," said Cruz. "Women don't really feel embraced yet and they need to come down here and stump together."

Alex Heckler, a top Clinton bundler in Fort Lauderdale, said tonight's meeting marks the "true begining" of a unfied effort and that it's inevitable after 18 months of hard fought campaigning it's no no surprise many passionate Clinton donors aren't immeidately excited to step up for Obama.

"I say, "Take a deep breath, I know we're upset that Hillary's not the nominee but we need to be united to make sure we don't have another four years of George W. Bush," Heckler said. "As far as incentivizing Hillary donors, if (Obama) sent and e-mail out to his entire multi million person donor list asking them each to give a small donation to help reture Hillary Clinton's debt that would be appreciated."

Obama has said he does not intend to do that.

Oh, and also on hand outside the Mayflower to greet the Hillary/Barack folks will be Bob Kunst, president of, who went to 211 cities touting Hillary and started working to draft her to run for president back in 2003. He will be holding his "Obama bad for America and Israel" sign and announcing ""
