Fl Supreme foreclosure report not so Sunshine-y...
The Florida Supreme Court just issued the final report from its task force looking into Florida's housing foreclosure crisis, and it's not exactly happy reading.
The "enormous" increase in foreclosure cases coming into Florida is akin to a traffic jam, the report concludes.
"The enormous increase in foreclosure filings has overwhelmed those resources in many circuits and represents a caseload traffic jam that the infrastructure cannot meet in a timely and efficient manner without support and traffic management."
The 52-page report from the task force, created in March by Chief Justice Peggy Quince, noted problems in a multitude of areas: lack of coordination from one circuit to the next, foreclosure "rescue scams," lack of documentation, drawn-out court proceedings, etc.
