Fla. GOP Chair Jennifer Carroll?
A draft Jennifer Carroll for Florida Republican Party chairwoman movement has sprung up. But organizer Armando Grundy of Gainesville stressed to the Buzz that he's talking about electing her in 2011 and this has nothing to do with the movement to oust current chairman Jim Greer. From the release touting state Rep. Carroll, who we assume would be the first African-American Florida GOP Chair at least since Reconstruction:
Carroll is a strong conservative and identifies herself as a “Reagan Republican.” Her credentials speak highly of both her credibility and character. She served our country for 20 years in the United States Navy; and this former Naval Commander has a proven record as a fiscal conservative as well being a consensus builder. Many of her colleagues have described her as being insightful, innovative, a proven leader, dependable, dedicated and most importantly always willing to be a servant leader. She has served as State Representative in Florida’s District 13 since the year 2003; while serving in that capacity she had a dual role as House Deputy Majority Leader 2003-2004 and as Majority Whip from 2004-2006.
As RPOF Chair she will bring a new sense of style and leadership focused on maintaining our majorities in the state legislature and increasing them in the US Congress. And that is why she is EXACTLY what our state party needs right now. This goal cannot be achieved without your support!!
