Florida Chamber hearts Ellyn Bogdanoff
The Florida Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday named Sen. Ellyn Bogdanoff, R-Fort Lauderdale, its "Most Valuable Legislator" for 2011, saying in a news release that she "led the charge" in the Senate on such Chamber priorities as property insurance, legal reform, research and development incentives and corporate income tax relief.
The release gives Bogdanoff credit for "derailing" amendments that would have "hurt the business community," and for fighting for property insurance and legal reforms even as they went down in defeat.
The Chamber's "Legislative Report Card," released earlier this month, gave Bogdanoff a perfect score of 100 for her work during the session. GOP senators J.D. Alexander, Garrett Richter and Stephen Wise also received perfect scores. The Senator with the lowest score: Arthenia Joyner, D-Tampa, with a 17. More than three dozen House members received perfect scores.
