Florida GOP Chairman Tony DiMatteo?
Count Pinellas Republican state committeeman Tony DiMatteo among the big winners in Tuesday's election - and look for a formal announcement soon that he'll be running for state party chairman. DiMatteo, once a strong Charlie Crist ally, was one of the first grass roots Republican leaders to get behind Rubio. Yesterday, he and other early Rubio supporters presented their candidate with a May 6, 2009, St. Pete Times piece headlined, "Rubio faced uphill climb in Senate race."
