Florida's Cliff Stearns keeps heat on WH over solar scandal
U.S. Rep. Cliff Stearns doesn't get a lot of attention on the Buzz but that's changing with a controversy embroiling the Obama administration. The 7-term Ocala Republican is head of a Energy and Commerce oversight committee investigating a $535 million federal loan to a favored solar company, Solyndra, that has collapsed. (background)
Stearns has been asking pointed questions of government officials, who were warned that the company was shaky and that the loan was being rushed. He's also getting lots of news attention, like yesterday's interview on CNBC.
