What's bad for Florida is good for Virginia politics.

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Tim Kaine is running a TV commercial that highlights a federal budget decision that blocked the move of an nuclear-powered aircraft carrier from Virginia to Mayport Naval Station near Jacksonville. The decision was a political blow to Florida Sen. Bill Nelson and other members of the Florida delegation, including Republican Rep. Ander Crenshaw of Jacksonville. The Florida officials still hold onto hope that the carrier will eventually arrive but Virginia will not easily give up -- an underlying message of Kaine's ad.
