Floridians narrowly approve of Gov. Scott's rejection of request to ban concealed guns outside RNC
One more note from this week's poll from the Quinnipiac Polling Institute: By a narrow 49 to 46 percent margin, respondents disagree with Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, who asked the state to ban firearms, including those carried with a state concealed weapons permit, from the city's "Event Zone" around this summer's Republican National Convention.
Buckhorn this month asked Florida Gov. Rick Scott for an executive order allowing the city to ban carrying firearms in the event zone. Scott said no, criticizing the city's idea as an excessive and unconstitutional violation of the Second Amendment.
The Q poll of 1,722 registered Florida voters has a margin of error of plus-or-minus 2.4 percentage points.
