Following Norman's exit, Putnam endorses Legg in Senate race
Just hours after Sen. Jim Norman announced he wouldn't run for re-election, we have more evidence that top Republicans are beginning to coalesce around Rep. John Legg in the District 17 Senate race. Legg's campaign just announced it has the endorsement of Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam, widely considered a potential contender for governor one day. (Legg has been endorsed by a long list of Pasco officials, including incoming House Speaker Will Weatherford. Expect Legg to continue rolling out endorsements in the coming days.)
"John Legg's true conservative ideals will be key in driving our state forward and growing our economy," Putnam said in a release. "He knows how important it is to start with the fundamentals and build upon them to create a more dynamic and highly-educated workforce for our forward-thinking state. I support John for Senate District 17 and urge the voters to do the same."
