Former Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp joins law firm
From our friends at the News Service of Florida: Former Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp is joining the Tallahassee law firm of Messer, Caparello and Self. Kottkamp and the firm said Wednesday. Kottkamp will mainly practice in the Legislative and Governmental Affairs division of the Firm, said the firm’s managing partner, Tom Findley. The other members of the lobbying team at the firm are Bob L. Harris, Mark Herron and Marlene Falmlen. Kottkamp, a Republican from Cape Coral, was lieutenant governor under Gov. Charlie Crist, and among the roles he took on during his enture was chairman of the board of Space Florida and oversight of the Office of Drug Control. A former trial lawyer, Kottkamp also served three terms in the state House, where he was chairman of the Judiciary Committee, the Governmental Oversight Committee and the Judiciary Committee. “I am excited to join such a prestigious and progressive law firm and look forward to using my skills and experience in assisting the Firm’s clients with their legislative and government needs,” Kottkamp said in a statement sent to the News Service. Kottkamp was previously a shareholder at the Fort Myers law firm of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes and Holt.
