FPL scores $200 million in 'smart grid' stimulus



President Barack Obama will be in Arcadia this morning to announce the award of $3.4 billion in stimulus money for "smart grid" projects that aim to lower electric costs and update the nation's energy network while including wind and solar.

The big winner in Florida is Florida Power & Light, whose solar plant Obama will tour, which got $200 million to install 2.5 million "smart meters" across South Florida along with additional improvements. Below, a list of all Florida projects (click to enlarge)
