The flow of campaign contributions to Gus Bilirakis may have lagged behind Democrat Phyllis Busansky last quarter, but the Republican frontrunner for District 9 has two prime fundraising opportunities coming up.

U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert is scheduled to attend an evening affair for Bilirakis on Aug. 2. Pinellas County Commissioner Ronnie Duncan will be hosting the event at his home, said Bilirakis’ campaign.

Vice President Dick Cheney is the headliner for Bilirakis’ luncheon at the Wyndham Hotel—West Shore on July 21. About 200 people are expected to attend, his campaign said, each of whom will pay $500 for a ticket. Before the buffet lunch, Cheney is expected to join a small group in an intimate “political roundtable” moderated by Gus Bilirakis.

The $1000-slots for this reception are likely to be filled by members of the host committee, which includes: Al & Beverly Austin, Herb Swarzman, Bing Kearney, Jack Ross, Gus Stavros, Joseph Kokolakis, Cliff Curry, Manuel Rose, David Storck, Patrick Shepard, George Andreaus, Vivian Patterson, Rich Bekesh, Nick Kotaiche, Bill Harvard, Sara Cramer, Dan Bertoch, Lorena Jaeb, Gary & Tiny Pike, Ken Webster, Tom Paul, Sam Rashid, Dick Mandt, Gary Dworkin, Jeff Grove, Paul Jallo, A.K. Deshai, Carl Kuttler.

Update: Rob Whitney, Bilirakis' campaign manager, said two hosts of the Cheney luncheon were accidently omitted the list. Tony DiMatteo, current chair of the Republican Party in Pinellas County, and his predecessor, Paul Bedinghaus are also members of the committee.
