George LeMieux: My plan is better than Paul Ryan's

Asked specifically whether he would vote for the Paul Ryan budget plan with its controversial Medicare overhaul, Republican U.S. Senate candidate George LeMieux today said he prefers his own "2007 Solution." That plan has drawn praise in conservative circles, though it's vague and hardly offers a road map for budget cuts. Here's LeMieux's statement:

“The Democrats have no plan to protect Medicare and if we do nothing seniors will lose their Medicare in the future. I commend Congressman Ryan for starting this important discussion. The Ryan budget contains many very positive things, including repeal of Obamacare, ending earmarks, and reducing corporate and individual tax rates to boost our economy.  That’s exactly how I voted in the Senate.  However, I don’t think the Ryan budget gets us to balance soon enough.  I have my own budget called ‘The 2007 Solution,’ which gets us to balance in 2 years, and that’s the approach I like most.”
