Get ready for Jan. 23 GOP debate in Tampa
Mark your calendar for the Republican presidential debate in Tampa on Monday Jan. 23. Hosted by the Tampa Bay Times, NBC News, National Journal and the Florida Council of 100, the debate at USF Tampa will feature the top candidates competing in Florida’s Jan. 31 primary.
NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams will moderate, along with a panel including Times political editor Adam C. Smith and former Miami Herald writer Beth Reinhard, now at National Journal.
No public tickets are available for the 9 p.m. event, but your viewing options are many. Watch it live on NBC or on tampabay.com.
Also, the USF Student Government is hosting a Debate Watch Party on the USF Tampa campus at the western end of the Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza lawn. The debate will be simulcast live on a large projection screen inside a tent. The party opens to guests at 7:30 p.m. Seating will be available for 800, and refreshments will be provided. The party is free and open to students and the general public.
