The GOP price of admission
When Republicans gather for their "Presidency IV" weekend in Orlando Oct. 20-21, only the leading contenders - Rudy, Fred, John and Mitt - will get to court the Florida activists that Saturday. How come? Because they're the only ones who coughed up $100,000 to the state GOP.
"We gave them plenty of time and they chose not to participate that way,'' GOP Chairman Jim Greer said of the other candidates, noting that everybody will be at Sunday's debate. Also on the agenda: receptions for black Republicans, Hispanic Republicans and Jewish Republicans.
Greer's comments came before taping a "Political Connections" interview to air Sunday on Bay News 9. The Democratic presidential boycott of Florida, as you can imagine, was one subject he was happy to discuss.
