GOP Women's Federation calls for Scott/McCollum statewide debate

3

August

The Florida Federation of Republican Women, officially neutral in the governors race, is none too happy about Rick Scott declining to agree to a debate with Bill McCollum that will be televised statewide: President Cindy Graves:

“The members of Florida Federation of Republican Women respectfully call upon our GOP candidates for Florida governor to work out the details necessary to hold a statewide televised debate for the benefit of the voters. In keeping with the level of campaign coverage Floridians have come to expect as well as political tradition, it is unacceptable and without recent precedent to limit access to the candidates to only two local media television markets....Voters are eager to see the political process in action and deserve the opportunity to make an informed decision. If Rick Scott continues to decline the invitation of the Leadership Florida and the Florida Press Association event scheduled for August 11th in Orlando, we respectfully ask that an alternative be worked out for the benefit of all Republican voters."
