Gov. Rick Scott: I'll pay for the tax cuts

No, he's not taking out his checkbook (again). Scott said he'll account for tax cuts in his budget recommendation that will be unveiled next month.

"We're going to deal with the deficit. But the way to get the state back to work is reducing property taxes and phasing out the business tax," Scott said.

Senate President Mike Haridopolos expressed some concern earlier today that the state might not have enough money to fill a budget shortfall approaching $4 billion while paying $2.2 billion in cuts Scott wants to taxes on property and corporate income.

So how will Scott pay for it all?

"You'll see it in the budget that comes out Feb. 4," Scott said.
