Gov Scott backs off ranking system for elections supervisors
After a meeting between elections supervisors, Gov. Rick Scott's staff, and Secretary of State Ken Detzner, the Scott administration is backing off plans to post a ranking of elections supervisor, based on a survey that elections officials viewed as thoroughly bone headed.
"We believe the presidential primary was a very successful election in January and we are proud of the work of our supervisors, but it's a priority of our department and the governor to discover areas that can be improved upon," said Secretary of State spokesman Chris Cate. "We've taken the first step to find an elections measurement tool and we will be working with supervisors to improve upon this tool to measure the performance of future elections."
