Is Grover Norquist credible on cigarette taxes?

Fb11928e2bc45710847ea4ba39f498c2 Grover Norquist is on the attack, using letters and TV ads to pressure Florida House members into rejecting the Senate's proposed $1 per pack cigarette tax.

But does the anti-tax king have a bias? Reports have shown his Americans For Tax Reform has received funding from an array of special interests including Big Tobacco. The Times/Herald asked him during a recent interview.

"We don’t discuss funding sources," Norquist said. "We oppose any and all taxes at all times, so it’s sort of a silly question. That’s not a grown up position. You get that any time someone wants to raise taxes. Read the pledge, which was written 20 years ago. Don’t raise taxes."
