Gus Bilirakis, Cliff Stearns join 'Tea Party Caucus'
The congressional Tea Party Caucus was announced today, and two Florida lawmakers are among the group: Reps. Gus Bilirakis, R-Palm Harbor, and Cliff Stearns, R-Ocala. The caucus is led by Michele Bachmann, R-Minn.
"We are not the mouthpiece of the tea party. We are not taking the tea party and controlling it from Washington, D.C.," Bachmann said at a news conference after the meeting. But she said it would be a "receptacle" for tea party activists' views and opinions.
