Haridopolos aide follows MacNamara and becomes Scott's deputy chief of staff

Chris Finkbeiner, the 26-year-old deputy chief of staff to Senate President Mike Haridopolos, has joined Gov. Rick Scott's staff as his new deputy chief of staff for policy, replacing Mary Anne Carter.

Finkbeiner, who worked as a legislative aide for Republican Rep. Bryan Nelson, was lured to the job by Steve MacNamara, whom Scott recently hired away from Haridopolos to be his new chief of staff. Haridopolos hired Finkbeiner, a 2006 graduate of the University of Florida, in 2008 to work on his political activities. The Senate president announced on Monday that he is dropping out of the U.S. Senate campaign and has no plans to seek another elective office.
