Republican U.S. Senate candidate Katherine Harris raised $364,000 in the last six-week fund-raising period.
Yesterday, we told you Democrat Sen. Bill Nelson raised $1.2-million for Aug. 17 to Sept. 30, federal campaign finance records released this week show.
Nelson has $6.8-million on hand compared with just under $1-million for Harris.
Campaign finance records show that Nelson spent $6.2-million in the last six weeks alone, mostly for TV ads. Harris, meanwhile, spent just $1.6-million. She has aired no radio or TV ads since before the Sept. 5 primary, and she isn’t included in Republican Party ads running on behalf of other top GOP candidates.
Harris, a millionaire from the Sarasota area, also filed federal election records this period showing that $2.9-million she given her own campaign this summer will now be considered a contribution. It had been deemed a loan, but the campaign does not have the money to repay it.
