Harris to undergo surgery

U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris announced Friday that she will undergo surgery to remove an ovarian mass. Harris will undergo pre-operative testing Monday in Washington. Surgery is scheduled for July 17. Her doctor, Dr. John Eisold, attending physician to Congress said Harris' condition is low-risk for malignancy, according to a press release.

"I hope that women across the state of Florida and our nation will take this opportunity to ask their doctors about ovarian cancer risks, as well as ask them about breast cancer, and general women's health issues,'' she said.

In an another matter, Harris acknowledged writing a thank you letter to corrupt contractor Mitchell Wade, with whom she shared two meals of more than $2800.
