Hasner and LeMieux shoot at Haridopolos' performance as senate president
U.S. Senate candidate Mike Haridopolos has said his campaign or rise or fall based on his performance of as state Senate president. Well, his chief rivals, Adam Hasner and George LeMieux, aren't even waiting for the session to end to attack his performance in the legislature:
First came a tweet this afternoon from LeMieux, blasting Haridopolos for failing to pass tougher anti-illegal immigration legislation: Fla. Legislature's inability to pass meaningful immigration reform is a failure of leadership. http://bit.ly/iw5qdA
Then came a Times-Union account about Hasner campaigning today in Jacksonville: “The results from the Florida Senate looked like what you would expect from Harry Reid’s Senate,” he said.
"Unlike Leader Hasner and Senator LeMeiux, who never raised a finger to support immigration reform during their tenures, Senator Haridopolos has led and gotten a bill passed that gets tough on illegal immigration in Florida and implements E-Verify across many state programs," responded Haridopolos campaign spokesman Tim Baker. "It is incredibly dishonest for these candidates to now criticize Senator Haridopolos for leading on an issue that was apparently not important enough for them to address while they were in office. I'm glad that Senator Haridopolos' leadership has led Hasner and LeMeiux to now consider the problem of illegal immigration worth addressing."
