Helm and Ausman

30

July

Pinellas County's new Democratic Chairman, Ed Helm, hasn't yet shown himself to be a winner, but he certainly is a doer. This weekend he brought into town his old mayoral campaign manager, Democratic National Committeeman Jon Ausman of Tallahassee. "All candidates, their key volunteers, campaign managers and advisers are encouraged to schedule a one-on-one meeting with Mr. Ausman,'' Helm wrote in an e-mail to Democrats Friday.

Meanwhile, a group called the Pinellas Council of Clubs & Organizations holds an endorsing convention today. Part of the announcement: "There are two business supported candidates who are running against Liz McCallum (Dist 52) and Charlie Gerdes (Dist 53). So we have two candidates who have grassroots support versus two who will respond to special interests!"

Interesting message. Democrats supported by businesses? They must be stopped!
