Hispanic activists plan to protest Romney in Tampa
A Hispanic advocacy group says it will stage a demonstrate Wednesday outside Mitt Romney's fundraiser in Tampa, protesting against the hard line stance on immigration he took in the GOP primary.
"Latinos do not favor Romney's strategy to make life unbearable for undocumented and mixed-status families," read an announcement by DRM Capitol Group, which is organizing the effort and others like it. The group advocates for the Dream Act, which Romney has said he would veto as president.
"DREAMers and allies will be holding rallies to protest Romney at his various fundraising stops," the group said. "They will be attended Romney's fundraising tour to let his donors know that DREAMers, Latinos and allies will be coming out in numbers against him come November for his anti-immigrant stances.
