In the House, it's all relative
The brothers of Senate President Ken Pruitt and House Speaker Marco Rubio are running for seats in the House in 2008, but they are not the only relatives of current or former members doing so. Here are a few more who are building name ID the easy way.
Republican Kelli Stargel of Lakeland, wife of ex-Rep. (now circuit judge) John Stargel, last week opened a fund-raising account for his old House District 64 seat. Republican Deborah Mayfield of Vero Beach is seeking the District 80 seat held by her husband, the term-limited Stan Mayfield. Democrat Joe Geller, brother (and law partner) of Sen. Steve Geller, D-Hallandale Beach, is seeking the District 106 seat being vacated by Dan Gelber, who's running for the Senate. Democrat Dwight Bullard, son of Sen. Larcenia Bullard and Rep. Ed Bullard, is running for the South Dade District 118 seat held by his father, who's termed out.
